Salter Magnified Display Mechanical Bathroom Scales is rated out of 5 by 975.Rated 4 out of 5 by saddlebags from good enough I chose mechanical scales after reading reviews and trying out electronic scales. These are guaranteed for an amazing 15 years! The scales are small, accurate and return direct to 0 when you get off. I think they are good value for the money and do the job.Date published: 2010-07-14Rated 1 out of 5 by Viognier Kev from Pretty useless bathroom scales An adult needs to be long sighted in order to read these scales to the pound. I can tell roughly what I weigh with them but that's it! I did think about using binoculars to help but that would of course increase my weight! Also you seem to need to reset them to be on zero before every use, and then when you step off they are a pound or 2 out again, so probably not very accurate anyway. I suppose they're OK if you only want to know your weight to the nearest quarter of a stone.Date published: 2017-04-16Rated 1 out of 5 by Lilian from Salter Magnifying Mechanical Scales They looked ok, the magnifying view was great but the main funtion which is the most important, the ability to weigh was usless. I got on and weighed my self stepped off got on again and my weight was completly differant. I tried this several times and didn`t get the same reading twice. I returned them and got a full refundDate published: 2014-04-30Rated 5 out of 5 by vin2216 from good solid bathroom scales No fiddly "reset to other weights" type digital buttons, just jump on and be dismayed... great purchase, solid, good value, and straightforward. The magnifying glass thingy is good too.Date published: 2010-05-11Rated 5 out of 5 by AngieC from Scales of justice... Just exactly what we needed! Plain reliable mechanical scales that just tell you what you weigh without judging you. After several sets of digital scales that make wild & uninformed guesses at your percentage of bodyfat, tell you off, order you round & try to run your life for you then run out of batteries at the most inconvenient moments, they are a breath of fresh air.Date published: 2009-11-11Rated 1 out of 5 by Sheila from Salter Magnifying Scales I bought these mechanical scales to take to our boat in France. Unfortunately I didn't check them before we left & now realise the scales are faulty. They weigh differently each time & weigh a stone overweight, which was a shock when I first stood on them! We are in France for 2 months so it may be too late to return them when we get home. I'm sure that this set of scales are just faulty & I would have returned them if I'd been in England. The design is small & the viewing panel is easy to read.Date published: 2014-04-29Rated 4 out of 5 by Sue7 from Old fashioned, no hassle scales I am very pleased with my mechanical scales, which can tell me how much I weigh in stones and pounds as well as kilograms in one look, unlike my husband's digital scales which require complicated adjustment from kilograms to stones. Why do people want digital scales?Date published: 2017-02-03Rated 5 out of 5 by Tyrannosaurus from Simple and accurate I have found these Salter scales to be reliable, consistent and accurate. After setting the zero for first use they have not deviated from this after using them daily. The dial is easy to read albeit quite small but the magnified area helps. Design wise they look much better than the photo suggests and the soft touch foot area is nice. They are compact but large enough for my size 10 feet. For the price these are great scales from a well known brand and appear to be built to last.Date published: 2014-08-12
